Patrick Gomez was born and raised in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He graduated from the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He completed his general surgery internship and a residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia. He is licensed to practice in the states of Texas and New Mexico.

Dr. Gomez served for two years as Assistant Chief of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Camp LeJeune Naval Hospital, North Carolina. During this time, he also served at Naval Fleet Hospital Five in Saudi Arabia during the Middle East Gulf War.

His special interests are in Nasal and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Surgical Treatment of Sleep Disorders, Diseases of the Ear, and Head and Neck Cancer Surgery including Thyroid Carcinomas.
