Alvaro A. Hernandez, Jr., received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at El Paso before graduating from the University of Texas Medical School. His postgraduate education was completed with an internship at Charity Hospital New Orleans in La. and with an orthopedic surgery residency at the Louisiana State University Medical School Department of Orthopedics. Dr. Hernandez is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Louisiana and Texas and is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

His hospital affiliations include Providence Memorial Hospital, Las Palmas Medical Center, Del Sol Medical Center and Paso del Norte Surgery Center.

Dr. Hernandez is a member of the American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and El Paso County Medical Society. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
