Jose Diaz-Pagan graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, P.R., with a Bachelor of Science in biology before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, P.R. His medical training continued with a general surgery internship and general orthopedic surgery residency with University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine affiliated hospitals. Dr. Diaz-Pagan was also awarded an orthopedic shoulder fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is licensed to practice in Texas and Puerto Rico.

Dr. Diaz-Pagan operates private practices in both El Paso, Texas and in Puerto Rico. His U.S. hospital privileges include Physician’s Hospital, El Paso Specialty Hospital, Sierra Providence Health Network, Del Sol Medical Center, and the El Paso V.A. Health Care System Facility. In addition, Dr. Diaz-Pagan is affiliated with the following Puerto Rico hospitals: Doctor Pila Hospital, San Francisco Hospital, HIMA and the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Medical Center.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a member of the Global Shoulder Society, Puerto Rican Society of Orthopedic Surgeons and Trauma Surgeons, Puerto Rico Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and the El Paso County Medical Society.
