A. Bert Blackburn graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas before earning his Doctorate of Medicine from the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He then completed his medical training with obstetrics and gynecology residencies at Houston's Hermann Hospital, M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute, Houston, Texas and at Austin's Brackenridge Hospital. Dr. Blackburn has been in private practice since 1987 within the community of El Paso.
